- Do you hire international students? If so, does CIBC World Markets help candidates get their work permit?
Yes, we do hire international students at CIBC World Markets. In Canada and the U.S., securing the required work permit is the responsibility of the successful candidate. In Europe, we will arrange work permits for successful candidates.
- Does CIBC have global opportunities?
Yes, sometimes there are global opportunities for campus hires. These opportunities would be posted on our campus website (www.cibcwm.com/canadagrads).
- How does a rotation program work? What happens at the end of a rotation program?
A typical rotation program at CIBC World Markets is 1–2 years in length with rotations lasting 3–8 months. Employees will rotate within various areas of a given line of business. At the end of a rotation program, candidates will have acquired a vast network of business contacts and a wealth of diversified business experience. It is the responsibility of the employee to secure a full-time position with the support of the program sponsor or Human Resources representative.

You will have access to training through the following channels: Campus Recruitment Orientation (summer and full time); Global Tuition Assistance Program for Full-Time employees – funding provided by CIBC World Markets for job-related training, approved by managers; rotational programs and job-specific training.

Some positions require specific designations (please refer to specific job postings), while others view certain designations as an asset but not a requirement.
- Are there co-op/internship opportunities at CIBC World Markets?
The majority of co-op/internship opportunities fall within our summer recruitment program. Based on specific business needs, there may be other co-op/internship opportunities throughout the year. These would be posted at select co-op career centres.
In the U.S. and Europe, World Markets does not have a formal internship program - preferring instead to recruit as and when the business need arises.
- Does CIBC World Markets have mentorship programs?

There are a variety of formal and informal mentorship programs at CIBC.
- How long does CIBC World Markets' campus recruitment process take (i.e. from application to offer/decline)?
The recruitment process typically takes two months from application to offer.
- How will I know if my resume has been received and reviewed?
All resumes are collected centrally and distributed to appropriate lines of business for review. Due to high volumes, we are not able to confirm receipt of applications.
- Are there job opportunities across Canada?
Yes, there are job opportunities across Canada for select businesses. These posting will be on our website and typically include positions in Investment Banking and Commercial Banking.
- CIBC World Markets does not post job opportunities at my school. Can I still apply?
