Scott Wilson

Scott Wilson is Chief Administrative Officer of Wholesale Banking with CIBC World Markets Inc.
Prior to his appointment as CAO in 2011, Mr. Wilson was Managing Director and Head of CIBC’s European Region, as of March 2008.
Mr. Wilson began his career in law in 1991, working for law firms in Washington, D.C. He later joined Bear Stearns in New York and Hong Kong as a legal and regulatory advisor to the Emerging Markets division. In 1998, he joined CIBC to become Head of Legal and Compliance for the Asia-Pacific region. The European region was added to these responsibilities in 2007.
Mr. Wilson earned a BA from the University of California in 1986, and a J.D. from UCLA School of Law in 1991. He studied China’s economic reform, international trade and contract laws at Johns Hopkins-Nanjing University Centre for China-U.S. studies as a visiting scholar in 1991. In 2004, Mr. Wilson received an MBA issued jointly by Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology.
Mr. Wilson is a member of CIBC's Wholesale Banking Management Committee.
Mr. Wilson is Co-founder and Director of the United Kingdom branch of Seacology, an international environmental and development nonprofit organization that focuses on saving endangered species, habitats and cultures of islands throughout the world. He is also a member of the California Bar Association, District of Columbia Bar Association, and the UK Institute of Directors.
