Founded in 1989, CIBC Merchant Banking is responsible for the principal investing activities of CIBC's wholesale banking business in both direct principal and fund investments. We invest directly in companies to help achieve their financial and strategic goals. We also support the broader corporate initiatives of CIBC through the structuring, monitoring and harvesting of strategic bank investments. The capital we invest is our own, and we do not manage or invest capital on behalf of third parties. This provides us with the flexibility to design capital solutions tailored to the specific needs of our clients.
